Treviso
A low key day today. we had breakfast and then left Cortina D'Ampezzo driving south toward Treviso. Missy drove the whole way without directions knowing we were heading southeast We arrived around noon and put our car in a parking lot and then walked around town a bit. Treviso has canals like Venice but no gondolas. We saw the famous statue Fontana della Tette (see photo), among other sites. We stopped for lunch at Le Beccherie (famed for being the place that Tiramisu was first made in the 1960's it is also a reataurant found in the Michelin guide and the food was great they first served a watermelon with lemon mayonaisse (and i don't like watermelon and Missy doesnt like mayonaisse but we both loved this dish Then we had wild asparagus with wild mustard and cream (also delicious) -!: finally we split a lamb dish done 2 ways- first a one was lamb in a gyoza with a toasted artichoke heart and then lamb ribs with artichike hearts and raspberry sauce. Very good! Of couse we had the tiramisu at the end. Our airBNB host contacted us to let us know our apartment was ready so we got our stuff and settled in. Later we walked around town more, did some shopping and then had dinner at DaPina (a very populat pizza restaurant) we split a pizza and then stopped for gelato on our way back to the airBNB It was a more chill day overall. Tomorrow prosecco tasting tour in Conigliano.
