Ortesei

We got up early today, had breakfast in the hotel and walked to the tram station we took the tram the the top and then another cable car to reach the top of Seceda It was beautiful at the top. We hiked a short ways to the top of the peak and the across the top of the mountains edge We weren't sure where we were headed but we wanted to see a lot so we headed on the path that looked most interesting. Some people took the tram down but we wanted to see more of the mountain and hiked about 4 miles seeing spectacular cliffs and beautiful meadows saw a few animals and passed an occasional hiker eventually ending up at a refuge on the mountain where we had lunch We hiked another mile after lunch to a tram that took us down to another city (St Christina) where we caught A bus back to Ortesei Once back in Ortisei we caught another tram- this time to Alpe di Siusi. This takes you to the largest alpine meadow in Europe it was stunning we hiked about a mile and a half and then turned around as it was starting to rain and we heard thunder. We took the tram back down the hill and returned to the hotel where we went swimming and hit the sauna. The pool is indoor with gold chandeliers and very comfortable anti gravity loungers. After a shower, we are headed out to find dinner and then bed! The Dolomites are beautiful!
